"Wansaka - A New Sacred Community" is a series of articles written as an inquiry about creating sacred community. I asked myself what we would need in place to fulfill a dream of living in profound relatedness and personal fulfillment. Who would we need to be? How can we grow into our greater selves? What can we bring to our world that will inspire and uplift and yet be grounded and whole?
As you read these articles, I encourage you to explore the possibilities. Imagine and engage with a dream of new ways of being and relating. Perhaps, through this exploration, we can create the opportunity for Sacred Community to awaken within each of us.

Wansaka - A New Sacred Community: Part Three
"Creating Love As A Context For Living"

Sacred Community is an open hearted relationship based on specific qualities which then become the templates of experience. A quality is a theme of expression which cements, engages and enlivens community while providing a platform for experience and relationship. As a theme, the quality provides the guidelines of interrelatedness. A quality's template is a vibrational pattern set in place to create a context for living and hold the energies for creation to unfold. As a template, the quality holds the vibrational patterns of that quality in place. Each member of the community receives the blessings and benefits of both the guidelines as a way of living and the template as a foundation and structure for experience.

The initial quality introduced into this new paradigm of Sacred Community is Honor. This is the originating vibrational template. Honor forms the basis of community. Every other quality is entwined and connected to Honor. With honor as the first and primary vibrational quality for personal direction and collective agreement, the other qualities can fully express themselves. Since honor extends appreciation, recognition, respect and freedom to all, then all other qualities can flourish.

Love As A Context for Living
If honor is the foundation of Sacred Community, then Love is its expression. To create an open hearted community, honor must be present in all ways and at all times. To live in the essence of sacred community Love must have the opportunity to flow effortlessly. Love is not an emotion. It is a continual, experiential event. While we may feel love or experience love or share love, Love is its own realm. It is a frequency of Divine freedom and motion, embracing the very notion of existence. To be in love, to feel love and to express love is to give voice to the unknown.

Love is a fluid vibrational frequency of acceptance and inclusion. The known is appreciated and embraced. The 'as yet unknown' is held joyous anticipation. This is the delight and acknowledgment of wonder and endless possibility. For Sacred Community to embrace itself and its members, Love must be called forth. Love must be courted. We must open ourselves to the miraculous and ask love to enter our lives. Then, we awaken to the delight of how Love reveals itself in its endless variations.

Love is a quality and a quality asks questions. Love asks: Am I loving myself? Have I shown a greater level of appreciation to those around me? Are my actions honoring and nurturing to this land, my home, my own being? Can I open myself to the unknown in sheer delight of creation? Can I receive in unexpected ways? Can I share gifts with those who will welcome them? Are there new ways that I can bring more beauty into my heart? Is there something I have overlooked within myself and others that asks for recognition and tenderness? Have I supported my own dream and the dreams of others?

In these questions, we court love to come to us. We ask the resonance to embrace us as we open ourselves to that expression. The qualities reveal themselves. Sometimes we encounter love an emotion. We feel it as generosity. We respond to the support, the caring, the wonder of being. Sometimes we encounter love an experience or an event that we participate within and learn to share. It is a moment in time, that fills us with more of life. Love is also an action held within a motion, a gesture, a kindness extended, a support given, a burden lifted.

Loving Self
When love is the context of your expression, then you begin to appreciate the magnificence of your own being. If you learn the many ways in which love moves in your own life, then you can feel the wonder of your true nature. You can do the things you want to do, because you love doing them and you love yourself for the talents and qualities that lead you to those very actions. You do not have to wonder whether you are worthy of your own talents, because you can see the beauty of your own being. You have no need to feel unworthy or incomplete or less than another, because the abundance of love flows through you. Your relationship within love is the very thing that makes love radiate.

Loving Others
To approach others with love is to extend them freedom and encouragement. Love is greater than passion. It is compassion. It is recognition. It is support. It is continuity. It is Divine expression and acceptance. Love is inclusion, but not always agreement. You can love someone and not agree with their ideas or modes of action. Love is not fluffy. It is not what I call "ooey - flooey." There are consequences and responsibilities within love, just as there are within all qualities. If the consequences and responsibilities did not exist, then we would not be able to distinguish the qualities we seek to perpetuate. Love honors appropriateness. Not everyone wants to be hugged. Not everyone wants to know your innermost secrets. Not everyone needs to be continually included. Not everyone is appropriate for another's preconceived notions about love. If you share love in a way that is appropriate to your own nature and appropriate to another person's nature, you give love to yourself and the other person simultaneously. Then love is an effortless exchange.

Loving Community
Sacred Community is an inclusive shared experience. The vibrational templates of love, while highly specific are also very open. There is no singular way to love. There are guidelines for its expression. Love's higher vibrational fields are nearly transparent. Love shared with each person is different, yet it is still distinguished as love. When love is a context for Sacred Community, then the person who is shy is just as respected and appreciated as one who is gregarious. Each person is loved for who the are and loved according to their nature, because love is not a forced event. It is an oscillating expression, quiet or exuberant, subtle or profound, empty or full.

When a community is based in love, then each person has a greater freedom in their own being. Their worth is encouraged as a contribution to the whole. Whatever their talents or gifts, they are genuinely appreciated. You can love the plumber for her skills and appreciate them, whether you have an inclination to become a plumber or not. If someone's personal self worth is inhibited and therefore causes confusion or distress, then in love, they have the space and freedom to explore it. They are not wrong for having those feelings. Love becomes a space of freedom and support. It does not mean that love condones inappropriate behavior. Love, as an expression of Sacred Community, will take the appropriate actions for each situation, using honor as the foundation and love as the expression. Anger, hurt and frustration can all exist within love, but love does not condone destructive behavior. To condone such behavior would alter the vibrational frequencies of love as a collective, and therefore begin to supersede it.

For me, love is the natural inclination of humanity and therefore a joyous expression of the Divine. As you continue our exploration of Sacred Community, look at how you give and receive love in your own life. Explore love as a query. What do you love about yourself? What qualities do you feel love portrays? Are you willing to receive more love in your life? Can you expand your capacity for love? Can you show your love for others in ways that they will most appreciate it?
