Opening to Joy - Meditations With Lumari

BEING THE DREAM
Each of us have our personal dreams. They are part of our being. They are a guiding force in our lives. These personal dreams are not fantasies of grandeur or stardom. Our dream comes from deep within and is different than having a challenge or setting a goal. The dream is always present, whether we think about it all of the time or it is moving quietly below the surface consciousness of our mind. Personal dreams are deeper aspects of our being, yearning to come into form in our lives. We live to fulfill them and we take whatever steps are needed to fulfill that aspect of our being.

Sometimes, in the complexity of our lives, it appears that things may stand in our way. We may have a desire for something that always seems to elude us. The experiences that we want or the opportunities that could help us bring our dream into being, seems unattainable. It can feel like there is a thing, an obstacle, that is somehow larger than our own life. We want, but we cannot have. We dream, but we cannot fulfill.

HEALING THE OBSTACLES
Because of this obstacle, because something appears to be blocking the path, there is a damper on personal joy. It can feel like a reoccurring theme, or the relentless pursuit of the impossible to attain. It is not a thing. It has no physical form, it is an experience. Yet, we keep on bumping into it. When we do, it alters our own joy. It disturbs our optimism. Then, usually, we try to get around it - or - regroup and reorganize - or - question our dream - or - just give up because it all seems so useless.

OPENING TO JOY MEDITATION
I created this meditation to help us release our own perceptions about whatever is or whatever we think is blocking our way. Initially, please follow the meditation to bring yourself to a centered and calm space. Then repeat these sentences until you feel relaxed and comfortable with them.

Later, you can repeat them anytime you like. You can say them when things are going your way or when they"re not. You can wake up to them and go to sleep with them. You can repeat them before meetings or important events.

Don"t think about whether you are having any results from this meditation. Allow it time. This is not about getting the dream, although it can happen. It's about flowing in the joy of your life.

THE PRACTICE:
Center yourself.

You may take several slows deep breaths, to become calmer and more focused. The first time you do this meditation, you may want to close your eyes. It will help you feel the energies this word imparts. Later, when you are more familiar with the practice and feel, you can do this meditation anywhere - eye opened or closed, spoken silently or aloud.

THE FOCUS CHANT:

"What is in my way, is not in my way.
I am open to the flows of my greatest joy.
I receive the blessings of my life."

Take several slow, deep breaths and return to your normal focus. This beautiful and very simple meditation practice can create sweet miracles. I invite you to share it with your friends and to integrate it into your daily life.

May life send you joy in unexpected ways.

I invite you to share this meditation with your friends, family and other people. Let them know that you appreciate them. Help them open the flow of joy in their lives and their dreams. Let us all spread the gifts of appreciation in our lives and our world.
